After the neighbor had dialed 911, the police shortly came to the scene. They had rung the bell with no response. When the officers searched around the house, they found that the back door was unlocked. They entered and soon found three dead bodies. It appeared to be a multiple murder then a suicide; but after the officers considered the eyewitness’s account and noted the footprints in the snow—the officers called for backup and placed an All Points Bulletin for the blue Buick Lasbere.

Now the police were flagging a vehicle, which fit the eyewitness’s description. They wanted to question the driver; however, the Buick didn’t stop. It began to speed up and made the patrol car chase after it. The chase took the police on a maze of streets that led to the top of Wellington Hill Street, then veered to Hillsboro Road. The police followed with their sirens screaming and their lights flashing. The car turned into a high school parking lot. It sped towards the back into a dead end. It had a bordering fence, which surrounded the school. The car came to a screeching halt. A dark figure jumped out with a briefcase and ran.

Manuel held the briefcase beneath his arm. The cold air whipped his face; his black trench coat blowing in the wind. The police car stopped and the men chased him on foot. He threw the briefcase over the fence and quickly scaled it, landing in the backyard of a house. The police began to climb it as well. Manuel stopped in his tracks and drew his nine millimeter.  The officers’ eyes widened—the villain turned and began to shoot.
